Your Natural Resources & Hidden Gems
meet the succedent houses + transits & cards for this week
Sometimes we need a reminder of the resources we have in our toolbox to give us a little kick in the butt to actually use them. That’s where the succedent houses in your chart come in.
Houses in the chart represent areas of life — we all have 12 of them, each with a zodiac sign that occupies them.
Some houses will have lots of planets, luminaries, or a point like your ascendant (rising degree) or midheaven, and some houses will have nothing — but all houses are important.
The angular houses (1st, 4th, 7th & 10th) speak most directly to us — who are you? where do you live? who are you partnered with? what do you do?
But I want to at the next category of houses — the succedent houses. These are the houses that come after (or succeed) the angular houses.
The 2nd House, 5th House, 8th House, and 11th House touch on the personal, creative, shared, and collective resources that we have innate access to.
These indicate the resources we have as a result of and that fuel the house that comes before them — it’s a symbiotic relationship, really.
I think these houses are so important because we sometimes need a reminder of the tools, gifts, and inclinations that are essential to us.
Often they’re so a part of our lives and ourselves that we can’t see them clearly, which is one of the reasons astrology is helpful.
When the world feels challenging and we’re looking around at what we can do to help, I suggest looking at the resources you have and start exercising, cultivating, and sharing them.

The Transits in the Cards
Strength is associated with Leo & the Full Moon. It says:
It’s hard, painful even, to keep your heart open — especially when you don’t have control over the outcome, but this is what creates integrity. It’s a sense of having your own back, no matter the outcome. A time to turn towards life, interactions, and fears with your whole chest.
Connect to your natural inclinations and embrace your wildness — your rage, your brashness, your enthusiasm, your passion. Accepting and even loving on what you find beastly about yourself creates more self-trust and confidence.
Reflection: Where or with whom does my heart want to open more?
The Fool is associated with Uranus. It says:
Jump into a new beginning. Expanding your horizons, new opportunities, and movement are available.
This can be a card of quantum leaps and a renewed sense of freedom and trust in yourself — trust in your heart, intuition, and gut. Optimism isn’t foolish when you know and back yourself. The crazier ideas you have right now the better. Be willing to do it differently.
Reflection: What am I so ready to begin?
8 of Cups is associated with Saturn in Pisces. It says:
Evolving ain’t easy, babe. You’re being called to go on an internal or external quest. Which sounds pretty cool (and is!), but it requires self-trust and leaving something behind. Whether it’s an achievement, a phase of a relationship, or a piece of your identity — it’s often tough to let go of.
Reflection: What assumptions am I ready to let go of? What am I ready to put up a new boundary around? What am I ready to move toward internally?
