Greetings from the Eclipse Portal
Chaos magic and swells of emotion with the Pisces lunar eclipse
Welcome to the Cosmic Style newsletter, your weekly check-in with the moon, planets, and how we can work with them IRL. I’m Leah Vanderveldt, your personal cosmic stylist.
Today we’re talking about:
The Lunar Eclipse in Pisces on September 17/18
The aesthetic of it all
Tarot wisdom spread for the eclipse
Big Eclipse Energy
What: Full Moon (Partial Lunar) Eclipse at 25° Pisces
When: 9/17, 10:34pm Eastern U.S.
Eclipses are different from regular lunations in that light gets obscured and warped in some way.
It can feel like the power goes out and when it comes back on, the room’s been rearranged. Or things can swiftly come into or leave your life, altering your next steps.
It’s chaos magic.
This means that I won’t be working with this full moon the way I would a regular schmegular full moon — i.e. I won’t be exercising my will to clarify or amplify something.
Instead, I’ll do my best to slow down and watch it play out.
I’ll say it a million times: Ride the wave.
Be a surfer of this eclipse season. Of your emotional waves. Of the situations present themselves. Allow them to take you along for the ride and show you something new.
But don’t go, like, furiously paddling toward a wave that’s prob gonna take you under. Idk, I can’t surf sooooo.
TLDR: Be open to opportunities, roll with the sharp turns or endings as best you can, and do your best to stay balanced.
Yea bra 🤙
Because it’s all happening in Pisces (a preview of the next set of eclipses to officially kick off in 2025), we’re in the territory of our compassion, empathy, intuition, emotional depths, imagination, and delulu daydreams.
But Saturn is very much involved (retrograding out in Pisces and opposing Mercury), wanting us to work with the mutable water and find the right boundaries, containers, and currents for us.
🌝 This Full Moon Wants You:
Letting it play out
Trusting your timing
Releasing assumptions
Emotionally regulating
Finding creative outlets
Quieting your inner critic
Holding space for yourself
Taking responsibility for your emotions
Walking away from unhealthy attachments
The Aesthetic
Expect erratic energy, shake ups, and dips. When you start to feel saturated, it’s a good signal to pull back and rest.
Style-wise: Keep it soft, keep it cozy. Let your clothes comfort and cocoon you this week.
